Cook's House is a hidden gem nestled amidst the picturesque Blue Mountains and is located only 125km north-west of Sydney.

Cook's House is a charming free standing, two storey, self contained French Provincial cottage that sleeps up to 6 people. It is an ideal getaway for a romantic rendezvous, a family holiday or a weekend escape with friends. Set on over five acres in the grounds of Hawthorn, a private country home, Cook's House is a unique holiday experience of elegance and luxury.

Enter through the old iron gates and follow the red gravel driveway beneath the pin oaks to Cook's House, where you will have a truly reviving and memorable holiday...escape to Cook's House.

Cook's House sleeps up to six people and is a fully self-contained spacious cottage. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a sitting room. The coral bedroom has a queen size bed and a cot. The yellow room has four single beds, making it ideal for friends and extended families. Relax in a comfortable armchair or curl up in the sitting room by the fire with a book from the Cook's House library. Downstairs, there is a dining room, kitchen, bathroom and separate toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped to ensure you have a ‘home away from home' and can prepare meals with ease. Outside, there is a paved sitting area with a barbeque for alfresco entertaining.

Discover the serene landscaped gardens of Hawthorn, where you will find oak, beech, ash, birch, chestnut, maple and plane trees. Enjoy meandering around the circular potager with its fruit, vegetables and flowers. Walk through the spectacular apple and pear arbour.

Explore further and you will find hens and ducks, large expanses of lawn, a tennis court and a tranquil lake surrounded by willow and aspen. Enjoy your morning exercise or evening yoga stretches in the stone temple. Play tennis, settle in a garden chair to read or simply lie on the lawn and soak up the gentle sun. Take your evening drink to the deck by the lake and listen to the frogs and ducks. Picnic under the shade of the oaks. In autumn, gather the chestnuts.

Venture further to bushwalk. The garden is designed in the classical park style. It was the inspiration for the charming and reflective book, 'Trees of History and Romance'. It also features in the rich and beautiful book, 'A Passion for Place'. The garden provides a natural sanctuary for wildlife. As well as the ducks, fish and frogs in the lake, you will find many different birds including little wrens and robins, honeyeaters and satin bower birds. At night, you will hear boobook owls, the occasional screech of a peacock, the drum of the emus from next door, and the rustle of foraging wombats.
