More about Conjola Tours

Conjola tours launched in April 2016 as an opportunity for visitors and locals to discover more about beautiful Lake Conjola on the NSW South Coast - history, heritage and nature.

This page shares stories of local history, natural environment and sustainability.

It originated as 'The Loft House" from the time when our house at Fishermans Paradise (at the head of Lake Conjola) was rented as a holiday house. We moved here in Jan 2013 from Sydney, established Kotahi Tourism and started turning our lawn into garden (and re-named this Facebook page 'Growing food not lawns in Fishermans Paradise). The latest project has been to develop a local tour - Conjola Tours!

Conjola and surrounds are gorgeous. Here's some 'tourist' info from the days when this page was about our holiday house at Fishermans Paradise...

Just under 3 hours from Sydney and Canberra, the Loft House is on the edge of Fishermans Paradise village at the head of Lake Conjola on the NSW South Coast.

Local attractions

Magnificent beaches, bush walks, fishing, boating, surfing, kayaking, shopping, dining or 4 wheel driving.

Some favourite places:

Lake Conjola – fishing, water skiing, canoeing/kayaking, swimming, beach and bush walks. Great bird watching too. The boat ramp described by locals as ‘the best on the lake’ is just 200 metres from the Loft House. Boats and kayaks are available for hire from Lake Conjola Entrance – 10 mins drive (or boat).

The historic village of Milton (circa 1860) with it's boutique shops, art galleries, markets, cafes, restaurants and an historic theatre - also just 10 mins drive from the Loft House.

5 more minutes away is Mollymook and Ulladulla with their pristine beaches, 9 and 18 hole golf courses, clubs, cinemas, shops and restaurants.

Jervis Bay is 30 mins drive and has organised whale and dolphin watching cruises. Jervis Bay also host's Hyams Beach with the 'finest and whitest sand in the world' according to The Guinness Book of Records.

Pigeon House Mountain – Didhol . It’s a 4-hour return hike to 720 meters - spectacular 360-degree views and a good work out!

Bendelong - great beaches, resident kangaroos and stingrays - it’s a gorgeous place.

For surfing, there’s breaks nearby including Green Island and at Bendelong, Mollymook and Bawley Point.

Useful things to know

There's lots of great restaurants in Milton ...

Food and groceries
There's 2 shops (including a liquor store) at Lake Conjola, 10 mins away and the one at the entrance sells great fish and chips.

There's no shop at Fishermans Paradise but Milton (10 mins) and Ulladulla (15) both have supermarkets.

There's lovely boutique delicatessens in both Milton and Ulladulla and for seafood, try Lucky's fish shop in Ulladulla. They claim Rick Stein as a customer.
