Coal River Valley Farmers' Market

The Market began in 2006 with support from Southern Midlands Council.

The aim of the market is to promote local products, raise funds for the local hall and build community networks. The proceeds from the Market have been used to maintain the halls and to provide new heating, carpet, tables and chairs and to upgrade the kitchen.

The Market is held from October to April on the 2nd Sunday of the month from 9am to 1.00pm in the Campania Hall and grounds.

Each Market has a variety of stalls selling local, fresh fruit and vegetables, plants and flowers, homemade jams, pickles, sauces, baked goods, locally grown walnuts. As well as food, there are stalls selling handcrafts such as jewellery, adult and children's clothing, candles, soaps and cards. Sometimes, the Market includes local farm animals such as alpacas and chooks. Depending on the time of year, there may be straw or sheep manure for sale.

As part of our community event we are pleased to welcome local groups who may hold a stall to raise money for their activities and to raise awareness and expand their membership - such as the popular Campania Fire Brigade barbecue.

Some of our patrons come to the Market especially for the genuine country cooking - scones and cream, chocolate cake, kiss biscuits, pavlova and sandwiches. These can enjoyed while you sit and catch up with friends over a cuppa in the Supper Room.

We believe our market in the valley offers a special country experience so we don't allow any second-hand or imported goods of any kind.
