Club Coops

Coops is Brisbane’s Premier Fitness and Lifestyle Centre.

Coops was established in 1979 by brothers Terry and Ashley Cooper. The brothers’ vision was to have Queensland’s premier Racquet Sports destination.

Since then, Coops has expanded its selection of services and facilities to cater to all health, fitness and racquet sports enthusiasts, offering the most diverse and extensive range of options available.

Ashley Cooper, with eight grand slam tennis titles to his name, provided valuable insight and experience into professional sports. A former World Number 1 in the late 1950s, Ashley is one of only 10 men to date to win three of the four Grand Slam events in the same year – winning the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open in 1958. Upon retirement, Ashley has served as a tennis player development administrator with Tennis Queensland for 40+ years and sits on the Board of Directors for Tennis Australia.

Terry Cooper, an already very successful businessman through his private business ventures and an entrepreneur within the motor vehicle and property development industries, brought a wealth of business expertise to Coops.

In most recent years, Terry’s son Ben has become involved in the company. In 2009, Terry and his son Ben, together laid new foundations for the company with one goal in mind – to be Brisbane’s Premier Fitness and Lifestyle Centre. With this came the introduction of the 5 star gym and fitness facility.

With further developments, facilities and programs being added to the business every year, its exciting times at Coops – Brisbane’s Premier Fitness and Lifestyle Centre.
