More about Clarendon

Clarendon is a glorious neo-classical mansion built in 1838 by James Cox – the second son of William Cox, who built the first road over the Blue Mountains in New South Wales.

The property is now owned and operated by the National Trust. Recent major refurbishments are returning this Tasmanian 'gem' to its sparkling former glory.

Clarendon is surrounded by magnificent parklands with convict-built heritage walled gardens and colonial outbuildings.

It is also home to the Australian Fly Fishing museum.

Visitors are invited to take a self-guided tour after a short introduction. The property is also host to many special events through the year (see the Trust's events calendar http://www.nationaltrust.org.au/tas/events)

Clarendon is also available for corporate bookings, film shoots, weddings and other private events.

It is closed for the months of July and August (open by prior arrangement for groups and private bookings).
