Children's Performing Arts Summer School

Rebecca (Rebecca's Maestros) has been a successful music and piano teacher for many years. She has managed to convince Julie (Brisbane) drama teacher to join her in January 2015 to put on a wonderful Children's Performing Arts Summer School (CPASS) that will deliver drama, singing, dance, learning about how to put a show together, writing some of the show and finally performing the show on the Friday night. Julie and Rebecca met in musical theatre in 1995, and have spent many years honing their skills. Rebecca has put on many students end of year shows and has a knack of musical direction and arrangements matching songs to children’s voices. Julie has directed many children’s shows and intends to add improvisation, mime, characterisation and storytelling to the end of week show. Summer school is also supported by Rebecca’s talented family member’s hubby Simon, son Joshua, sisters Rachel and Elizabeth and mum Lynette who are all adding their assistance to this fantastic week of fun.
The summer school will be run for one week in the summer holidays 12th - 16th January 9am - 4pm Monday to Thursday with Friday being a longer day as the children stay through to performance with dinner provided. The performance starts at 7pm and runs for approx. 1hr 30mins. The program includes workshops of drama, singing and dance and they will also get a chance to experience set and prop production and theatre makeup. We are very excited to bring this to the northern suburbs of Melbourne and we eagerly await any enquiries.
