Hi, my name is Ray Martin, I’m a Financial Auditor for Not for Profit Associations and a Taxation Specialist from Brisbane.

For 10 years I was a Volunteer Office Holder on Not for Profit Committees. I worked mostly in the Treasurer, Operations Management and Accounting roles, where I witnessed time and time again Financial Auditors take advantage of Clubs and Community Centres. They charged excessive fees for minimal work, chewing up money that the members had pain stakingly raised. I saw Members events cancelled or pushed back to cover gaps caused by Auditing Fees and sarting new Fundraising Campaigns took up extra time that volunteers could have been spending with family.

Then a few years into running my own Accounting Firm, I immersed myself in learning everything that I didn’t already know about auditing for Not for Profit Associations and set out with a mission to help make Office Holders lives easier. I started doing Financial Audits for Not for Profit Clients and I discovered a way that I could make an instant impact on a clubs bottom line.

By being consistent, and perfecting my Auditing Process, I very quickly earned the trust of my best clients and was able to charge them a far more reasonable rate then my Competitors and help them keep raised money in the bank.

Today, I have been Volunteering for 22 years, Auditing for 12 with P & C Associations, Amateur Sporting Clubs, Community Music Groups, Regional Sporting Associations and Licensed Clubs across Queensland. I understand the real world situations facing Office Holders like often being put in positions that they have not been trained for. I understand that they are often trying to juggle the demands of their honorary position with the demands of family and work commitments. Knowing this helps me help reduce much of the pressure and anxiety that audit time can cause.
