CFA Healthwatch

CFA Healthwatch is a free and confidential cardiovascular risk assessment program offered to CFA volunteers.

The Healthwatch program provides health checks to volunteers that include measures of height, weight and waist circumference, resting blood pressure and a fasting blood test looking at level of blood glucose, total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglycerides.

The health checks are conducted at hundred of brigades each year, as well as the state championships and other CFA and industry events.

Through the program many members have succeeded in making positive lifestyle changes and have reduced their risk of cardiovascular disease and other chronic lifestyle diseases.

In 2013 the CFA Healthwatch program won the Fire Services Award at the Fire Awareness Awards.
