In 2005, ComfortDelGro and Cabcharge (CDC) acquired the businesses and assets of the largest bus operator, the Westbus Group in Australia's most populous state, New South Wales. This venture marked ComfortDelGro's entry into the Australian market.

In July 2006, CDC acquired bus routes and assets of Holroyd Bus Lines Pty Ltd in the New South Wales' Metropolitan Region 3. A year later, the Group acquired the business and assets of Toronto Bus Services, a bus and coach operator in the Newcastle region of New South Wales.

In November 2008, CDC purchased the Kefford Corporation in Victoria. With a fleet of 328 buses and six depots, was the third-largest bus operator in Geelong and Ballarat, in Melbourne.
In September 2012 Deane's Transit Group including Deane's Bus lines was purchased in Queanbeyan NSW and now known as Qcity Transit. Operating in the local areas of Queanbeyan and Canberra, and Transborder Express with services between Yass and Canberra.

From 1 December 2014 CDC commenced operations of Blue Mountains Bus Company. It operates depots in Emu Plains, Leura and Valley Heights and now known as Blue Mountains Transit.

CDC is a major Australian operator of passenger land transport. CDC is one of the largest private operators in Sydney, NSW and the only operator that holds a:
• Sydney Metropolitan and Outer Metropolitan bus service contracts
• Rural and Regional bus service contracts
• NSW Train Link and
• Sydney Trains Bus Services.

CDC operates services under contracts within NSW via our Hillsbus, Hunter Valley Buses and Blue Mountains Transit brands. In Queanbeyan regional NSW, CDC operates under the Qcity Transit and Transborder Express brands and in Melbourne as CDC Victoria.
