Casula Community Group For Responsible Planning Inc. represents and advocates for the concerns of Casula residents regarding Planning and Development Applications to Liverpool City Council that adversely impact the community.

Of major concern is the Development Application by The De Angelis Group for the establishment of a liquor and gaming premises on the site of 467 Hume Highway Casula.

We say no to a pub and pokies with late night/early morning trading hours in Casula.

We value and want to retain the quiet, peaceful neighbourhood we have chosen to reside in.

With the introduction of late night trading restrictions for clubs and hotels in the city, because of alcohol fuelled violent behaviour, developers are moving to establish pubs with gaming and entertainment facilities further out into the suburbs.

Amongst establishments owned by The De Angelis Group are the Macarthur Tavern and the Moorebank Hotel. The Macarthur Tavern is listed as one of the most violent in NSW. The Moorebank Hotel is one of the most violent establishments in The Liverpool area.

We oppose the Casula development Application including;
- the associated increase of antisocial, alcohol fuelled violent behaviour,
- the associated increase in traffic and parking issues, particularly after patrons have been drinking for several hours previously,
- impact of gaming on vulnerable and at-risk families in a low socio-economic community,
- noise from venue activities, late night/early morning traffic and garbage removal,
- impact on near neighbours sleep patterns due to irregular noise, light and activities,
- increased traffic flow and parking on residential streets because of limited parking at the establishment,
- close proximity to a large primary school and other at risk establishments.
- negative impact on property values.
