Began 1986 an idea to create a place of peace,tranq">A peaceful place with lots of trees to encourage the birds. From the original seven species of birds originally there was last count 35. From the rose- covered arbour at the entrance, with massed pink and white everlastings on either side, to the back of the five ha property, birds are visible , hidden nesting, appear as mini splashes of blue as they dart among the shrubs to the WA thornbills with their little yellow rumps. Thornbills visit in groups of about eight and hop along the ground picking up insects. Other species are the brown , singing New Holland honeyeaters, the ubiquitous kookaburras. numerous birdbaths , a variety of other water features dot the gardens, In one corner there is a wishing well lots of places to sit and Be Still and rest and contemplate. Gardens have picnic areas also so why not book before an astronomy event and bring the family along for a wonderful afternoon & evening
