More about Carss Park Football Club

Carss Park FC was established in 1930 by a local prominent resident by the name of Charles Pirie. He approached Kogarah Council with the idea of commencing what was known as soccer for the children of the local community. Thus was born the great tradition of the maroon and white that continues to this day. Through name, site and uniform changes, the rich tapestry of his legacy continues through to our 80th Anniversary- held in 2010 and beyond, with our main field (previously The Chinese market gardens) named in his honour. Charles Pirie remains as our main ground, along with the midi and mini fields that so many Carss Park generations of players have grown up on, fostering a love of football and friendship. Noteable ex-players include Internationals Paul Degney & Aytek Genc, Matthew Breeze- A'League Referee, Richard Plesa, Dean Bouzanis, Nikolas Tsattalios and more. Several CP female players are also beginning to work their way through the representative pathways of St George FC and beyond.

As the oldest club in The St George Association, we are proud of our tradition, heritage and commitment to football over the past 80 years. Many families are generational, with the children and grand children of former presidents, committee and players now taking up active roles in our club.
