Captain and Bear Family Day Care

As a mother of two wonderful, energetic and active little boys, I understand how difficult it is to leave your child in someone else’s care. Because of this, I appreciate the trust you put in me to care for your child a daily basis. My goal is to build this trust by being professional, dependable, honest and most of all, caring for your child the same way I would want my own children to be cared for. We all want to create a healthy, harmonious and well-balanced family life, therefore by working together we can enhance your child’s learning, wellbeing and progress.

My philosophy is to provide a safe and loving home environment that fosters healthy social, cognitive and physical development. Due to the small numbers offered in a family day care setting I can listen, watch and talk to your child allowing me to discover their interests, skills and loves. My goal is to then enhance each child’s potential and emotional development in a safe, friendly, family-feel atmosphere.

My mission is to help your child become confident, independent learners who will discover and develop a strong sense of self-worth, empathy and love. Hence, enabling them to make positive life choices and to gently assist them to take ownership of their behaviour. I do understand the increasing stress that parents and families face each day, and I want to ensure that every step of your child’s journey through this time is unique and it is my aim to help your child learn and grow while in my care, and to build strong relationships based on respect and belongingness.

Finally, my aim is to offer a warm and nurturing atmosphere, treat your child with the kindness and dignity they deserve and to create fun, ‘hands-on’ play opportunities every day. Children learn about themselves and their environments through their interactions with others and being involved in their surroundings. In conjunction with yourself, the parent, I wish to create an open relationship and build on what goals and dreams each child might have.
