A change of ownership means long-term framer Steve Brown has taken the helm and will be steering the business on a new and exciting course. The store will be moving out of the homewares field to focus far more heavily on the art of framing, and to reflect this new business direction a new name is on the way: “Bespoke Framing and Photography”.

With an extensive background in artistic photography, Steve understands the role a frame plays in presenting and finishing an image. When it comes to framing an artwork, Steve’s driving goal is to turn every piece into a masterpiece, going beyond regular custom framing and, in true bespoke tradition, drawing on whatever techniques and products will achieve that aim.

Steve’s passion for framing is contagious and all his staff are infected. Drawn largely from the local art community, Steve’s staff share his dedication to quality bespoke framing that surrounds an artwork in its very own work of art. Their work is not limited to traditional art media, either. Steve and his team have been known to frame miniature Persian carpets, drumsticks & concert tickets, painted leather and delicate Balinese puppets.

As an accomplished photographer with close to 30 years’ experience, Steve is also able to offer a service not available through other framers in the area, namely, digitisation of artworks ready for online sales, printmaking or simply to create a record for an artist of their best or most favourite works.
