Campbelltown LAC - NSW Police Force

Campbelltown Local Area Command is located in the South West of Sydney. It is bordered by Camden LAC, Macquarie Fields LAC, and Wollongong LAC. The Command sits on the traditional lands of the Tharawal people.

Within Campbelltown LAC is a regional shopping centre, the University of Western Sydney, TAFE, and a major regional Hospital. It is bordered by the Georges River on one side with small farming type acreage on the other. Campbelltown has a growing industrial area with neighbouring LAC's having large industrial areas. Campbelltown LAC is less than an hour by road or rail from Sydney CBD and the Airport.

A small portion of the LAC has been developed by Department of Housing, with a significant trend towards the development of newer Estates including Macarthur Gardens & Park Central. Campbelltown LAC includes a diverse multicultural community which incorporates large numbers of Indigenous and Pacific Islanders, and is well represented by most nationalities.

Campbelltown has very rich history going back to the days of John & Elizabeth Macarthur. It celebrates the history of the town ghost, Fred Fisher, on an annual basis and is represented in the NRL by the West Tigers Club.
