cafe calma came into existence as a pop-up tea-shop in 2013, operating at markets along the Capricorn Coast and in Rockhampton.

In April 2014, it opened its doors as a permanent cafe space in Rockhampton...and 9 short months later closed its doors.

For 2015, cafe calma existed as a memory and an intention, but its pulse never faded. In keeping with the spirit from whence it sprang, cafe calma is now an online soul-food cafe.

cafe calma has always been and will forever remain a place for connection, creation and change – for community.


A peak behind cafe calma

cafe calma was birthed from a place of stillness, faith and openness. It was the 'what next' after a long pause that came about when the life I had planned, worked towards and hoped for crumbled. It was the response I had to a very clear message:

Be still.

Have faith.

Stay open and listen.

No idea or plans required.

We each face times when we must reinvent our hopes, our lives and ourselves. Sometimes we can feel very alone, very lost and utterly hopeless. I hope cafe calma will be your hearth in those times.
