About Jeff Galea (Principal) and Cadence Music:

Jeff established Cadence Music School in 1997 at Pendle Hill and obtained the teaching services of various teachers.

Since 1997 the school has expanded to include bass guitar, piano, singing and theory lessons. Over the years hundreds of students have learned music from attending Cadence Music School. The school currently has approximately 130 students enrolled.

The variety in the students reflects the flexibility of the school and its approach to music education. Students of all ages and levels are welcome at Cadence Music. This open approach shows in the eclectic mix of students. The age and circumstance of each student varies significantly and we try to cater for each on an individual basis. The youngest students begin at around 5-6 years of age and we have taught people well into their retirement. Some of the students have gone on to become professional musicians/entertainers while others just learn for their own enjoyment.

All styles of music are taught, including:

Rock
Blues
Heavy Metal
Country
Classical
Jazz

We also prepare students for their school exams (including Higher School Certificate) and have many students participating in the A.M.E.B exams (both in theory and practical).

The success of the school is largely due to the combination of the staff's academic qualifications and their experience in performing live in working bands/groups.

The teachers have not only studied at tertiary level, they continue to perform in various bands/musical acts. This enables the teachers to be able to give practical advice/tuition to the students with regards to performing music while having the theoretical knowledge that is important for the complete musician.
