Butterfly Soaps

My dry sensitive skin and allergy to perfumes, antiperspirants and most toothpastes prompted me to research a natural alternative to these commercialised products.

The search for products that wouldn't make me sneeze or leave me itching or burning for days led me to natural cold process soaps. I tried a handmade goats milk soap and loved it! In my usual independent DIY spirit I decided then that I would make my own. So I did and now I'm addicted!

I have always had a love for nature and curiosity and admiration of butterflies. As a small child a friend of the family noticed me enthralled at the sight of a butterfly and my cute toddler mispronunciation "bubafly". I was nicknamed butterfly from then on.

Moving from the UK to Australia I noticed the vast array of beautiful butterflies among other amazing fauna and have gleaned much inspiration from the beauty around me.

After watching many amazing soap makers generously share their talent and soap making skills on YouTube I came across the "butterfly soap swirl" technique, invented by Zahida from Hand Made in Florida.

This technique and my love for butterflies had to go together and Butterfly Soaps was born!

The soaps I make with butterfly swirls are inspired by real butterflies, and for every butterfly swirl soap I sell I will donate $1 to a conservation charity aimed at regenerating habitat for the unique and precious butterflies of Australia.
