Parramatta Road runs from east to west through the centre of the command. Liverpool Road and Victoria Road, two major arterial roads also run through the command. The northern border of the command is the Parramatta River. The main railway line runs from the city to the west through the command to Burwood with the Strathfield rail interchange located at Strathfield.
The command has four major shopping centres; Burwood Westfield in Burwood; Burwood Plaza in Burwood; The Rhodes Shopping Centre in Rhodes, and; Birkenhead Shopping Centre in Drummoyne.
