Bryces Pty Ltd is a company recently established that will develop and run a chain of new studio apartment motels throughout regional NSW. Bryces will tap into a need for higher quality rural accommodation, primarily targeting business guests.

Bryce McDougall is director of Bryces Pty Ltd. He discovered a real problem with motel consistency in rural Australia from one town to the next. A three star property in one town can be fantastic, and in the next appalling.

Regional motels are often outdated, especially in smaller towns. They have not sufficiently kept up with the evolving needs of business guests, with many missing little things such as; plenty of power points for charging personal electronic devices, free WIFI, and good strong lighting in bathrooms and at business desks. Harder to replicate are bigger things like quiet locations, modern appearance, a full internal laundry and kitchen, five star customer service and premium quality finishes; Bryces will be miles ahead.

Many motels in regional NSW were built decades ago and often look, feel and even smell tired. Motels that have been face-lifted are better, but still aren’t great. Guests at Bryces will love the brand new architecturally designed studio apartments, purpose built for 21st century guest needs.

Portman House Scone was purchased by Bryces Pty Ltd in March 2016. Initially it was planned to facelift and rebrand this business, however, it has well established clientele and a good reputation so it has been decided to continue to trade as Portman House.

Gunnedah will be home to the first studio apartment motel in the Bryces chain. The Little Bloomfield Street land in Gunnedah is unique because it is tucked away on the edge of town (1.5km from the CBD), is very quiet, and has a very pleasant leafy rural outlook. Most Gunnedah motels are on the busy Kamilaroi Highway with limited visual appeal.
