More about Brunswick Park

Brunswick Park is a district of the London Borough of Barnet. It is located to the north of New Southgate and to the south of Oakleigh Park.Within the suburb of Brunswick Park are a recreation ground with sports field and tennis courts, and a small industrial estate. The many surrounding roads include Brunswick Park Road, Brunswick Avenue and Brunswick Crescent. The main entrances to both New Southgate Cemetery and North London Business Park are on Brunswick Park Road. The former, opened in 1861, used to be called the Great Northern Cemetery.A modern housing estate now occupies land once forming part of the cemetery grounds, in the vicinity of the original main entrance. The area is the location of Brunswick Park Primary and Nursery School and St Andrew the Apostle Greek Orthodox School. The business park was the site of a large Northern Telecom factory, built for Standard Telephones and Cables (STC). Opened in 1922, the factory became a major local landmark and for many years was referred to by its workers and the local population as 'The Standard'. During World War II a German bomb landed on the factory, killing 33 people.TransportNearest stationsOakleigh Park railway stationNew Southgate railway stationArnos Grove tube station
