Brisbane Showgrounds Casual Staff

The RNA was established in 1875 with the purpose of providing an opportunity for country and urban residents to celebrate together by putting on the first ever Queensland Inter-colonial Exhibition. The mission of the Association, which remains the same today, was to promote and encourage the development of the agricultural, pastoral, horticultural, industrial, manufacturing and cultural resources of the State of Queensland.
Today the RNA represents around 5,000 members and the Brisbane Showgrounds hosts not only the Ekka but hundreds of other events and activities each year. The Ekka still remains the RNA’s landmark event, running over ten days at the same site as the very first show back in 1875.

RNA’s exciting Regeneration project will rejuvenate and provide the Ekka with state of the art facilities and see the RNA Showgrounds become the centrepiece of a new mixed-use precinct in Brisbane (Bowen Hills). The Brisbane Showgrounds is set to be transformed into a lifestyle and cultural hub for the community to access all year round. One of the key reasons for redeveloping the Brisbane Showgrounds is to generate year round, seven days a week vitality throughout the precinct for use by the community. The regeneration will preserve the historic character of existing facilities, while creating a new and unique sense of place for all Queenslanders.
