A Brief History
Brindabella Endoscopy and Day-Surgery Centre was established in the new Red Cross Building in 1996.
The Red Cross building was named Solferino House in memory of the battle in 1859 near the Italian town of Solferino. A Swiss businessman Henry Durant provided relief and care for the wounded after the battle, and was so appalled at the lack of organisation that he conceived the idea of an international, neutral society that could address humanitarian needs in the event of war. The Internal Committee of Red Cross was the result.
This Centre includes Imaging, Dentist, Pharmacy, Consulting Suites and other health related services.
In 2008 Brindabella Endoscopy Centre was sold to CURA Day Hospitals Group. In June 2011 gastrotrACT staff moved downstairs. In 2013 a complete renovation with 2 procedure rooms was completed.
