The Braidwood Show Society was formed in 1874 by local farmers and graziers and held its first Show on the race course paddock in 1876 to display the livestock, crops and produce of the Braidwood district.
A major social occasion in Braidwood, and one of the many rural agricultural shows which highlight country life, the show has been held every year since (with the exception of drought in 1908 and war in 1942).
Over the years many improvements have been made to the Showgrounds (a few kilometres north of the village), including pavilions for stock and displaying the produce, arts and crafts of Braidwood.
Sideshows, novelty races & activities for the kids, and food and beverage stalls make a day out at the Braidwood Show popular for local residents and visitors alike.
