Boyanup Primary School

Boyanup Primary School's motto- 'Your child, Your school, Your community' was created by the School Council to reflect the importance the school places on individual students and the active role the local community plays in the school. Boyanup has a very strong community who are always willing to help, with community members acting as mentors, an active Waste Wise Committee and a P&C which won a Capel Shire Community Service Award in 2009. This involvement creates a sense of belonging and care that gives our school a warm, welcoming feel.

The school values of Learning, Respect, Care and Responsibility underpin classroom programs and expected levels of behaviour and are embedded in daily operations. As well as rewarding student progress and achievement at school assemblies, certificates are also presented to those students demonstrating school values.

Although a small school we offer a broad curriculum, maximising use of staff and community expertise, and set high standards. We have an art specialist and offer programs in singing and movement, media and early intervention language development. Students are actively involved in class PE programs and sports days are a major draw-card on the annual calendar.

Boyanup Primary School has adopted a whole school approach to curriculum delivery to assist a seamless transition through the phases of development. Staff members are committed to furthering their professional development and are currently involved in implementing the Schools Online Curriculum Services Project and Kagan's cooperative learning approach.

Students have access to the latest technology with an interactive whiteboard in each classroom in addition to desktop computers. We are fortunate to be able to run small class sizes, below 20 in the junior classes and up to 28 in other classes.

The school has excellent facilities with well maintained, modern buildings and specialist art, music and early childhood rooms. All classrooms are air conditioned. Our grounds receive many rave reviews as they are beautifully presented and offer students a wide range of play and sport areas.
