What is Bowen Therapy?
Bowen is a most gentle, relaxing yet effective form of bodywork therapy.
The therapist makes a precise series of firm but gentle moves over connective tissue (muscles and ligaments) with thumb and fingers. The touch is light, not manipulative, and is suitable for anyone from infants to the elderly to elite athletes.
The Bowen moves reduce muscle tension, increase blood supply and bodily fluid into muscle and connective tissue, promotes lymphatic drainage, and toxins are cleared from the body. Once the body’s natural pathways are cleared, the body is more readily able to make the necessary adjustments and alignments.
