Bouk’s Farm Fresh is the first commercial African vegetable farm in Australia. It is a family-run organic farm that produces chemical-free fresh vegetables aimed at building a sustainable community.
Our aim is to grow a wide variety of healthy vegetables for the whole community. We especially want to support some of the dietary and cultural needs of many new migrant communities:
- Help new arrivals to find local vegetables that they used to consume where they came from.
- Ensure that the elders in migrant communities get their traditional vegetables
- Create jobs and teach farming and gardening skills to new migrants to support them and their families.
- Play the role of a community garden where people of African descent can share their culture with other people living in Australia and to pass on African cultural values and traditions to the younger generation.
- Creating a beautiful farm that is a tourist destination and meeting point for people who love organic produce.

You will find a variety of vegetables including:
- Okra, purple skin garlic
- White corn (Maize)
- Leafy greens like pumpkin leaves (Bishusha, Bitoto), cassava (Pondu, Sombe), sweet potatoes ( Matembele) , hibiscus leaves (Ngai ngai), Mutete, spinach (Ndembi), Chinese cabbage and amaranthe .
- Flowering vegetables like pumpkin flowers, rosellas, tomatoes, zucchinis and aubergines( Nyanya, Ngogwe), Mbeko ya Metete, lettuce, chillies.
- Legumes like beans and peas
- Herbs like parsley, basil, rosella leaves, swede,
- Sweet potatoes and other roots vegetables like carrots, beetroots, parsnips, horse radish and cassava
