Booringa Heritage Museum Mitchell

Mitchell is located in SW Qld 600 kms west of Brisbane on the banks of the Maranoa River. It is now part of the Maranoa Regional Council although before 2008 it was the centre of the Booringa Shire.During the devastating floods which inundated Mitchell on 3rd February 2012, the Museum was flooded throughout to a depth of 35cm and further damaged by the deluging rain which penetrated the old building.The Group's activities are entirely absed around the development of the msueum. Volunteers spend one group day a week working to prepare and set up the displays and it is open each day to the public from 9am until noon and manned by a volunteer.
