Bonny's Barista Basics

My mission is to provide quality barista training to the community of the South Burnett to support people in their quests to gain and sustain employment in a cafe or restaurant and to further their careers once employed as well as ignite or nurture an already established love affair with coffee that can last a lifetime.

I believe that you must be the change you wish to see in the world and by utilising the skills, knowledge and qualifications that I have gained from ten years’ experience in the hospitality industry, I can help people achieve their goals and provide a unique opportunity for people who would have difficulty accessing services that have until now, not existed in the South Burnett region.

Bonny's Barista Basics provides access to quality learning resources and equipment in a working cafe environment that will enable students to learn the basics of being a barista and perform tasks to a high standard ensuring perfect espresso coffee every time. A skill that is highly sought after by employers and customers alike.

By offering accredited barista courses in an established cafe I am making it possible for both employed and unemployed people to learn new job ready skills and gain a certificate to add to their resume that is nationally recognised and valued by employers. These course will contain theory and practical components which will be assessed at a national standard with full face-to-face and blended delivery options available to suit each individual student.

Non- accredited courses are also offered as a way of learning the basics of making espresso coffee using a home espresso machine at home or commercial espresso machine in a workplace without the assessments required to obtain a nationally accredited certificate. These courses will be information based and centered on the appreciation of espresso coffee and what it takes to make a great tasting espresso coffee.

With years of experience as a barista and a passion for excellence, I believe that offering quality accredited and non-accredited barista courses will enable people to get the jobs they want as well as enhance the coffee experience for anyone from beginners to coffee enthusiasts and everyone in between whilst and to make superb espresso coffee at home and in the workplace that will have people talking about the quality of espresso coffee in the South Burnett region and leave an aftertaste that will have them coming back for more.

Coffee is more than just a beverage, it is a lifestyle and at times a lifesaver and as the old saying goes; "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." So at Bonny’s Barista Basics I aim to do just that, just with coffee :-D
