About Me

My name is Amanda and I am an Ofsted 'Outstanding' rated Childminder. I live in the middle of Pewsey within walking distance of several parks, shops, toddler groups, playgroup, local school, library (which we visit weekly for rhyme time), river and nature reserve.

I have a purpose built play room/conservatory and a safe enclosed garden where the children are encouraged to play at all times of the year. I also have an outdoor learning provision at Wilcot Village Hall which we visit numerous times a week, rain or shine, with two Childminder colleagues.

In my setting I offer a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities with toys, crafts and opportunities for messy play, mark making, cooking and other fun activities.

The children are able to develop their knowledge and understanding of the world around them during our outings which include walks to the park, river and nature reserve,village shops, library and toddler group. Further afield we go to the woods, soft play centres,farm parks, Butterfly World and other places of interest.

I provide healthy,nutritious meals and snacks. the children are encouraged to make healthy choices and help with food preparation

I provide pushchairs, car seats, travel cots, high chairs and spare clothes (for messy play or wet muddy walks) Or you may prefer to supply your own..

My setting offers a warm, safe and caring family environment for babies, toddlers and children to play, grow, learn and develop during their early and preschool years.

My Experience

I have been childminding since my own children were tiny- about 24 years! During that time I have cared for many children and babies of all ages; some have had special needs, some with food allergies, some with speech difficulties, some with behavior problems.

I believe in offering equal opportunities for both the families and children in my care. This means valuing all children equally and treating them fairly with equal concerns and without discrimination.

My Qualifications

I am a Wiltshire Council Network Accredited Childminder , which means I have received additional training to be able to offer your child a curriculum based Nursery Education.

I also have the following qualifications;

NVQ level 2 and 3 in childcare, learning and development
Level 1 OCN Forest Schools
Paediatric First Aid
Food Hygiene
Advanced Level Safeguarding

As part of Wiltshire Quality Assurance Scheme I am required to take at least 20 hours training each year, to ensure to ensure my Knowledge is up to date.

At my last two Ofsted inspections I received the grading ' Outstanding' in all areas.
