Blue Radish

Blue Radish creates hand-printed table linen, homewares and accessories in original designs in Canberra, Australia. The face behind Blue Radish is me, Rebecca – designer, printer, maker, business owner plus wife and mother to three human children and one canine one.

The Blue Radish aesthetic is modern and natural. My print designs are developed from my own drawings and photographs, which are heavily inspired by nature.

Blue Radish was born in 2008 from the marriage of my interest in sewing and my new love, screenprinting. It began as a kind of sanity saviour in my years as a stay-at-home mum. I would sew things, particularly bags at that point, from the fabric I printed. But I ran out of friends and family to give my creations to! So I started to sell them. When I finally returned to paid employment, I realised that my most important values, of family, freedom and creativity, were being seriously challenged by the change in circumstances so, in 2015, I took the plunge and resigned to run Blue Radish full-time. I haven’t looked back!

These days I spend my days creating new designs either by hand or on the computer (usually a combination of the two), printing my fabric and table linen in my garage workshop or at Megalo Print Studio, sewing on my Pfaff in my home office/studio or connecting with my followers and customers on social media and my blog. I’m here when my kids get home from school and I am my own boss. I couldn’t’ ask for more!
