Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and cognitive therapy courses are designed to teach people mindfulness skills to use in formal practice and in everyday life. The courses run over 8 weeks and include a full day of silence with guided practices. There is now evidence showing that Mindfulness Meditation can assist people dealing with Stress, Anxiety, Depression and Chronic Pain and other health problems. People do not need to have a background in meditation to join these courses. There will also be shorter introductory courses offered from time to time.
