Black Cockatoo Metal Studio

Black Cockatoo Metal Studio was founded in 2015 by aussie bird Tarn Rainey. Born and raised on a farm in Australia's mallee region, Tarn now resides in Canberra with her husband Shelby and their two sons Lachy and Mitch. It’s here she gained the nickname bird, and it’s here that Black Cockatoo Metal Studio came to life.

Continuing to draw inspiration from her child hood home, where the Black Cockatoo is a totem animal, Tarn designs and handcrafts pieces that are both desirable to wear and meaningful to own.

Moon watcher, earth child, dreamer, doer and wishful thinker are just some of the words Tarn has used to describe herself.

"My hands are always banged up and dirty, just like my dads were. I’m ok with that. That's the way it is when you grab life by the lapels, it colors you in the sweetest of hues."
