Kim and Tmeeka are 2 local NW women who are passionate about birth and helping other women, supporting them with information as well as both physical and emotional support to help them birth their babies the way they want to.

Why choose a doula?

Having a doula has been proven to reduce the length of your labour, reduces the need for synthetic hormones, pain relief medication, the use of medical interventions (such as forceps, vacuum) and the risk of a caesarean section.
A doula offers physical and emotional support and will help with providing information about all of your options so you can make your own informed choices.
A doula does not provide medical care.
A doula won't replace your partner, but can assist them to help you experience the birth you envision.
Postnatal support can also be offered and can help with breastfeeding and settling baby in the early days and is a fantastic further support offered in your own home.

Trained locally by Lisa Pascoe at Birth Your Way, all doulas listed on this page have completed the BYW Doula Training course and will also be completing the Postnatal course.
