Binz Nursery

Binz Nursery established itself in 1982 by its founders Erich and Rosemary Binz. Together they started the strawberry runner farm and became members of the Toolangi Certified Strawberry Runner Co-op.

In the late 1980’s Erich and Rosemary began building their first glass houses to begin growing different varieties of indoor flowers.

In 1992 Binz Nursery was officially established as a wholesale florist, selling to many companies around Australia including Coles, Woolworths, Kmart, Mitre 10 and Bunnings Warehouse.

Binz Nursery is a family owned business. As current Binz Nursery is now owned by the 3rd generation of Binz family members.

Erich & Rosemary Binz who founded the business, their son John and wife Jenni Binz were the second generation to continue the legacy and now current owners Trevor & Belindalee Binz.

On July 1st 2016 Binz Nursery as a wholesale florist closed its doors and paved the way for a new innovation in Strawberry growing. By producing strawberry plugs and tips in the glass houses once used for growing flowers.

Since this time Trevor Binz has established himself in the industry as one of the first to grow above ground soil systems for strawberry plugs on a commercial scale.

Binz Nursery on average supplies the Toolangi Certified Strawberry Runner Co-op with between 4 – 6 million strawberry runners annually and strawberry plug production is steadily growing every month.
