Hi! Welcome to Bayside Initiatives Group Inc. (BIG)

As a new member of the team, we’d like to introduce you to our organisation.
B.I.G. is a non government/ community organization that operates in the Bayside South area.
It was created by a group of individuals who had experienced mental illness and they wanted to provide a service where people could engage with their own community and have a sense of belonging.
The organization has provided a great first point of contact for people who have experienced mental health and who are moving towards regaining confidence about accessing their own community. Programs are designed to provide support and encouragement and help develop friendships. Being able to come together with others isolated by their illness helps increase independence, life choice and participation in our society.
B.I.G. also provides opportunities for people to try new things and run groups and information sessions according to requests from its members. We recognise that our members

need a safe place where they are accepted and treated with respect and dignity
