Built in 1893, Bencluna Homestead was one of the first houses built in the Byron Hinterland.

Constructed of timbers felled on the property and nestled within nature, the house offers complete privacy. Bencluna boasts the best of both worlds, surrounded by 6 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and rainforest as well as a stunning macadamia plantation and is yet only 5 minutes away from the quaint villages of Federal and Clunes, 10 minutes from Bangalow town and less than 20 minutes to the beaches of Byron Bay.

The house has undergone a full renovation to combine its original beauty and features with the niceties of today. The simplicity of the private lane entry, freshwater creek and picturesque bridge welcomes you to a beautiful home which you will instantly love.

The house and gardens have been thoughtfully designed to host weddings, wedding parties and accommodate holiday makers.

Great for couples, groups and families. Each of the four bedrooms hosts luxurious beds (king, queen and king single/king size) air conditioning /heating and beautiful views.

The kids “haven” bedroom is fully loaded with 2 king single bunks beds (sleeps 4), bean bags, toys, games, TV, foxtel and dvd player. Great for kids! (both small and grown up)

In total the main house sleeps 10 people. Separate living and relaxation areas both inside and out are available to suit your mood. The expansive decks around the house offer beautiful surrounds and views from the daybed, lounge suite or hanging chairs.

The open dining room can seat 10 comfortably around the recycled Elm French Farmhouse style table, complete with under floor heating which is great for the cooler months. Enjoy meals, wine and celebrations in this a gorgeous space.

Private business station/sun room for those who can’t fully escape work equipped with unlimited WIFI and printer set up.The lavish bathroom hosts a huge walk in, double shower with one large rain and one multi function head.

The freestanding bath perched perfectly in front of bi fold windows gives you the opportunity to enjoy unmatched serenity in the most relaxed way. The bathroom also has underfloor heating.

The kitchen is well equipped with coffee machine, juicer, french door fridge.

The fully landscaped gardens are not only beautiful to look at, the children will have a ball playing on the tyre swing which hangs from the giant 100 year old fig tree or jumping on the fully netted king size trampoline. You can also enjoy exploring the rainforest or relaxing next to an open fire if that suits your more.

Bencluna also offers a quaint cabin* situated In the gardens. The cabin sleeps two, complete with television, radio and outdoor setting it also has its own separate bathroom and toilet. The Cabin is available at an additional cost.
