The BPCSR Inc was launched in 2006 in response to local concerns about the welfare and safety of the elderly residents living on the Bellarine Peninsula. Especially those living alone or with a disability.
Run by volunteers in conjunction with Victoria Police, and based at the Ocean Grove Police Station, the group registers local residents on their database which can be accessed by the emergency services in cases of accidents or illness.
This includes where to find the spare key in case of an accident at home or a neighbour or family member alerts us and we are unable to contact the resident.
They also have a phone link service where they will call local residents on a regular basis to see if all is well.
