Beleza Samba School is an initiative that began in 2005 when Michael Boase began giving public samba classes. In 2008, Yamina Hofer-Boase added a dance section for the yearly Fremantle Festival and in 2010 the name "Beleza Tribe" was given to the community surrounding the Beleza Samba School. Classes are held now with the intention of sharing traditional knowledge about samba music from Brazil with the general public and also giving people an opportunity to become a part of the Beleza Tribe performances.
