G’day, I’m Scott Pape — the Barefoot Investor.

A dozen years ago, when I first pulled on a tie and walked into work at the Australian Stock Exchange, I knew I was different.

You see, I grew up in the small country town of Ouyen, Victoria, working the land with my father — barefoot and free. And that’s why I’d gone into finance: not for the wealth, or the notoriety, or the $300 pairs of jeans. I just wanted to keep my freedom.

But I quickly realised I was the odd one out.

I saw that the game was crooked… and most ‘advisors’ were posers who didn’t have two bob to rub together. They made their money from leaching commissions and kickbacks from their clients.

So I figuratively kicked off my shoes… and began treading my own path.

I took what I learnt about finance, turned it into a set of commonsense guidelines, and lived by those rules. No magic. No gambling with stocks. Just sound financial planning.

And since then, I’ve never had to worry about money again.

I want to teach you those rules for building your wealth.

So over the last decade, I’ve worked with the Australian Government… presented for Channel Seven… advised AFL and NRL teams on finance… and reached hundreds of thousands each week in the paper and on the radio.
