Banubanu Beach Retreat, a private island tourism venture that has been operating since 2005, it started out as a fishing camp which eventually evolved into an eco-beach retreat that offers an escape from the hustle of modern life. Banubanu was created 12 years ago by husband and wife team, Trevor Hosie and Helen Martin, with nothing more than a dream. It is a boutique getaway destination on Bremer Island, 13 kilometres off the coast of Nhulunbuy in East Arnhem which Helen and Trevor have been given permission to operate through strong relationships with the traditional owners.
Located on Bremer Island 13 kilometres off the coast of Nhulunbuy in East Arnhem Land it is known for its natural surroundings and connection to local Yolngu culture. Guests are ensured a memorable stay by offering a range of high quality, unique experiences and activities from fishing charters; cultural tours; walking trails or just lying in a hammock reading a book.
