Australian Truffle Traders supply premium black truffles from our family properties, as well as select truffle orchards in the Southern Forests of Manjimup, Western Australia. Prized for their outstanding quality and consistency, our truffles appear on the menus of the world’s best restaurants (including a number with Michelin stars).

Our Truffles:
Quality is at the heart of everything we do, from the care we give the soil, nurturing of our trees, careful handling during truffle harvest and the generations of farming history that runs through our veins. Hunted out when they are perfectly ripe by our highly trained (and very lovable) dogs, we unearth each truffle by hand. They are then thoroughly cleaned and graded on farm, ensuring they remain in perfect condition. The consistency of our supply is second to none in the Southern Hemisphere; dealing in large quantities of truffle with the integrity expected of a boutique family business.

Delivery:
We know that the clock starts ticking the moment our truffles are unearthed, so within 24-48 hours of harvest chefs and distributors around the world can have perfectly ripe truffles in their hands. Stringent grading and international export standards mean that the weight purchased represents pure truffle and importantly: you are guaranteed the grade and quality before it arrives on your doorstep. Attention to detail in packaging and experience in worldwide freight means your truffle arrives in optimum condition and ready to use. Family Owned, Family Grown:
Australian Truffle Traders is a joint venture between two Manjimup farming families; the Pottingers and the Booths. Hands on during every stage from growing to hunting to distribution, we pride ourselves on being a family business to the core. As farmers we understand the quality of our truffles and that we’re best placed to ensure they reach you at their freshest and best; so we took steps with a select group of local orchards to take distribution into our own hands.

Our first truffle orchard of oak and hazelnut trees was planted in 1999. Amongst just a handful in Australia at the time, it has become the most productive trufferie per acre in the world. More orchards have followed and we have grown to hone our craft to fine art. Farmers in the truest sense, we value a place on the land and know that shortcuts don’t work. Nurturing our soil, trees and environment is paramount to the perfect truffle.

The Pottinger family (David Snr and Elma, David Jnr and Julie) left their lives as sheep farmers on the rugged Orkney Islands of Scotland 40 years ago to begin an altogether different life farming in Western Australia. Gavin Booth hails from the West Highlands of Scotland. Growing up on country estates as the son of a deerstalker he’s well grounded in life on the land. Mel Booth grew up in the South West of Australia and started her working life in the vineyards of the Margaret River wine region. After a career training and handling Customs dogs she is now our expert handler and trainer. During the season you’ll find her and the dogs hunting out truffles ripe for David (Jnr) to harvest.
