AURA SOMA

AURA SOMA wishes to provide opportunity for young artists to perform and collaborate with other artists and help assist in the transition from their dance tertiary education into their professional dance careers.
After performing in Melbourne’s DANCE MASSIVE Festival 2015 with Adelaide company Onepoint618, Alexandra is excited to be taking her work ‘Cor’ to the Sibu Festival in Sarawak, Malaysia with AURA SOMA company dancers Kendal Winton and Andrew Haycroft in September 2015. AURA SOMA will be offering dance classes by up and coming and established contemporary dance artists.Classes will be in contemporary, improvisation and contact improvisation.

The Artistic Director of AURA SOMA Alexandra Knox has been teaching at Australian Dance Theatre, teaching students of the Youth Ensemble and created ‘This Moment’ a structured improvisation on the dancers. Alexandra has also taught at Leigh Warren and Dancers and is a current member of Onepoint618 under Artistic Director Katrina Lazaroff. In 2012, Alexandra received a residency through Arts SA and Ausdance SA to further develop her work Cor at Leigh Warren and Dancers. Most recently she performed in Dance Massive, Melbourne for a showing of South Australian company Onepoint618's work 'Wasted'.
