After working in the NHS for several years in various management roles I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to work as Medical Services Manager for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. During the two and a half years I spent with the Games I worked alongside many outstanding medical and sports professionals and I had the chance to see the wide ranging benefits of massage therapy.
When the curtain came down on Glasgow 2014 I went on to follow my ambitions of becoming a massage therapist by pursuing a 9 month course to gain my Diploma in Swedish Massage from The Western School, Glasgow. I then went on and completed post-graduate certificates in Pregnancy and Post-natal massage (with Knotstressed Therapies, Edinburgh) in order to provide specific support to expectant and new mums.
In May 2015 I set up my own practice, Auburn Massage Therapy in Linlithgow, Scotland. However, in October 2015 we had the wonderful opportunity to relocate to Melbourne, Australia with my husbands job so I packed up my massage bed and headed to the other side of the world.
I am delighted to say that I am now practicing at a wonderful holistic clinic, Northcote Natural Therapies on alternate weekends. I am fully insured to practice in Australia and am in the process of having my qualifications transferred/recognised in this country.
To make an appointment or to enquire about how I can help ease tension, promote better sleep or reduce stress, please email AuburnMassageTherapy@gmail.com or call Northcote Natural Therapies on (03) 9481 1166.
