Atchison Apertures

My name is Michael Atchison.

In 2012 I made the decision to leave my hometown of Hamilton to find better career opportunities. I always had an interest in photography, but had never considered it more than a hobby until I moved to Geelong. I started off taking photos of buildings, statues and family members which I would share on Facebook. The positive feedback I received for these images encouraged me to keep taking more and more photos.

In 2015, with the support of my fiancé Samantha, I finally took the plunge and enrolled in a photography course with Oxygen College. As I finished my Certificate III in Digital Photography, I started receiving requests for paid jobs through my Atchison Apertures Facebook page. Requests for family portrait sessions, band promotional images, pet portraiture, events and even requests for my landscape prints.

Eager to learn more and further develop my photography skills, I continued my study with a Certificate IV in Photo Imaging at Oxygen College. With an increased knowledge of photoshop techniques and studio lighting I am now able to offer clients fine art portraits. I am passionate about photography and enjoy being able to produce work for my clients that they can cherish for years to come.
