The club has a strong focus on developing all aspects of kayaking as a sport and recreational activity in Western Australia.
We are volunteer run and provide a safe and inclusive environment where you can learn good canoeing skills, receive coaching from experienced and qualified members, access structured training programs, compete in club and discipline events and gain experience and knowledge of our beautiful waterways.
With our great facilities at Garvey Park, Ascot, we offer use of our Club boats and equipment and boat storage (for a fee) to our members.
AKC also runs programs for junior development and embraces a family atmosphere. Our friendly coaches can offer guidance and opportunities for juniors (aged 18 and under) to try and compete in all aspects of canoeing/kayaking, including sprint, marathon, slalom and white water paddling.
We’re not all about competition! We recognise that not all paddlers want to race or compete to develop their skills and abilities for paddling. The Club also offers Introductory courses to all club members and the public.
