Look for the lights along the stretch of Ascot Vale Road, Moonee Ponds. Catch the twinkling and you’ve reached number 320, the little soul reviver Food Store. What once was a home turn Spanish deli is now the place where food shines, serving breakfast and lunch with St.Ali Coffee. There will be dinner too, in a couple of clicks.
Food. The vivers that keep us singing. The first day’s ode, a good morning bowl or lavish eggs on Saturday. Through to the meet and eat or sip express, a long sandwich, lunch with a bright arvo, feast on the run and graze with the drinks-on-Sunday club.
Head Chef David Stewart (previously Tender Trap) with friend and conceptualist, Cameron Wilson will be serving smart breakfast, lunch, treats and daily specials 7 days a week. Favourite local and international produce and ingredients, including Dave’s house-made chutneys, will also be on hand incase you want to liven the larder at home.
Choose your spot. There is outdoor seating, a bench top inside and a communal table to share with or enjoy alone. The old lounge-room and kitchen have been kept as they were so eaters-in will get a glimpse of homemade hospitality blending simpatico with the old and new. A take-away window keeps the coffee convenient.
Keep your eye out for number 320, the address that puts the focus on welcome.
