Arrandoovong Homestead

Historic Arrandoovong was built in 1852 by Angus Cameron and the homestead was designed by his wife, Christina to mimic her families home on the Isle of Arran, off the West coast of Scotland. Originally the stone house had twelve rooms with a slate roof, a detached kitchen, servants room, pantry and cellar, a carriage house, six stall stable and a wool shed. At the turn of the 20th Century, a weatherboard Federation house was built as an extension which has been renovated and adds a spectacular modern kitchen/dining area and a self contained flat.

Set in a picturesque mature established gardens, large old English trees, some aged 160 year old and other exotic specimen trees, tower above the park like setting. Old Elm trees and Pines shelter the permanent creek which meanders through the whole property and flows over two rocky edges to create charming cascades.
5 acres of pine forest with a majestic old elm in the centre offer a unique setting for photos as well as the 2 acres of Olive Grove.

Adding to the classic rose beds centred within the circular driveway, a secret path leads off to an arbour with old vines creating a mystical space amidst the original orchard of the 1800's.

The Homesteads' previous owner had run a successful B&B and was a member of the Australian & New Zealand finest B&B and rural retreats.

We are Approx. 45 mins from the coast and town of Hamilton is an easy 15 mins drive. Airports are based in both Hamilton and Portland and we are a little less than 3 hours West from Geelong (3.5 hours to Melbourne).
