A Snapshot of Anvil Angus:
-Individual cows sourced from a variety of leading Angus herds.
-Larger lines of females from Ardrossan and Vermont as well as dispersals such as Millah Murrah, Robonbel, Gunbar, Beartooth and Springburn.
-Augmented with embryos from two of the USAs leading Angus herds in SAV and Sitz, as well as the progressive Ellingson Angus, where we have access to their leading donors.
-Our association with EA is ongoing and we value this highly. Chad Ellingson has a wealth of knowledge of the Angus breed and balances running the herd with his other role as US Beef Procurement Manager for CRI International, where he identifies the next generation of CRIs semen sires.
-HBR females AI'd to leading domestic and international sires that we have inspected.
-HBR Artificial Insemination program followed up with bulls of the calibre of Banquet Time Frame, Banquet Bundy and Banquet Waltanna – high quality sires that can add to the calibre of calves produced from the AI program.
-Commercial females used for embryo recipients and calf production aimed at supplying feedlots in the 380-480 kg range.
-Commercial breeding focus aimed at developing a strong cow base and getting large numbers of calves on the ground by bulls currently being used in the stud herd. Also to help identify bulls for future use.
