ABPA is a NFP Association for registered Veterinarians, Chiropractors and Osteopaths with post graduate qualifications in Animal Chiropractic or Animal Biomechanical Medicine.

Treatment is directed at conditions, syndromes, or other symptom patterns that can be attributed to biomechanical dysfunction.

Chiropractic is primarily concerned with the well-being of the spine, particularly from a 'mechanical' point of view. Why? Quite simply, the spine itself, houses and protects the spinal cord - part of the nervous system - linking the brain with the rest of the body.

Osteopathy addresses the relationship between structure and function, assessing all tissues in the body - from bone, ligaments, tendons & muscles through to fascia and the fluid moving in the body. A wide range of techniques are used to improve function and restore health to the tissues.

Chiropractors and Osteopaths are highly educated to recognise and manage many conditions, and to refer for veterinary assessment where required.

Veterinarians with biomechanical education & experience have diagnostic and treatment skills not generally available through this profession. They use these skills integrated with their conventional veterinary approaches to provide holistic and highly effective animal care.
